FAQ
Is this therapy?
No. This is not therapy or mental health counseling and I am not a licensed mental health professional. My life coaching for athletes, parents and coaches is about improving mental skills and performance, navigating struggles and uncertainties. I’m here to be a mentor and advisor and help you have a happy, successful career in sports.
What ages do you work with?
12 and up. Most players younger than that are best served with more practice and dedication to their physical preparation and routines.
What sports do you work with?
My niche is baseball and softball but I welcome athletes, coaches and parents of all sports. As a former sports academy owner, I’ve worked with a diverse population of sports families.
Will You Analyze My Mechanics?
No. I’m not offering remote coaching for physical skills such as pitching, throwing, hitting or the like. I believe young athletes are best served by in-person coaches. My online courses are the best option for working on your mechanics at home.
What's The Cost?
My fee for 1:1 coaching is $120 per 50-minute session. I ask that all new clients commit to at least five sessions and purchase a copy of one of my mindset books (they will be part of homework).
Zoom? Or In Person?
Sessions will be remote, via phone call or Google Meet. I am based in the Washington, D.C. area – if you are local to me, we can discuss in-person meetings!
Can Parents sit or listen in?
No. Parents are not invited in our sessions so that athletes can be fully honest about their sports journey. I record all sessions for my records, but these recordings are kept private.
What frequency do you recommend?
I recommend weekly sessions for the first 5-7 sessions, after which we can taper down to biweekly, monthly, or just occasional check-ins.
What about college or pro athletes?
Yes, I work with both. Parents, you’re welcome to contact me on their behalf initially, but after that, please hand over correspondence to your son or daughter. As adults, I want them to be fully accountable.
How do you help parents?
By being a sounding board and advisor. I’ve done this – as an athlete and coach. I ran my own academy and travel program and have seen families do this sports thing right…and do it very, very wrong. I’m here to help you make good choices for your child so they grow up happy and well-adjusted.
How do you help coaches?
As your advisor and mentor, I’ll guide you through the soft skills you need to become well-organized and provide a fun, meaningful experience. Most youth sports coaches get minimal training and if you haven’t played at a high level yourself, it can be very difficult to know if you’re giving your kids the best advice, training or experience as a whole.
How do you help athletes?
By being a mentor and advisor who will help them develop their mental skills and resilience, while learning professionalism and dedication to their craft. I’m here to be encouraging and find solutions while holding them accountable to themselves and others.
