You’ll work with (highly motivated) geezers too, Dan? If so, count me in. I really like your training philosophy and I’ve been looking for someone like you to work with locally. Online sounds fantastic.
Absolutely. Send me an email and tell me what your goals are, and we will start our conversation from there.
So from your knowledge of body, is it really possible for an older person, say mid 40s with no history in sports or exercise to really achieve a muscular toned body now? I mean at that age does the body, or muscles respond in a way to achieve the same level of fitness that can be achieve at a younger age? Or is it just too late to expect your muscles to respond to that level. Losing weight is hard enough by middle age, but can strength and toning be achieved.
Absolutely. Muscles adapt to the stimulus placed upon them, regardless of their age. Sure, as we age our potential for muscle size decreases as our hormone levels dip, but placing a new, strong stimulus onto one’s body will elicit results. I know one particular story, can’t remember the name of the person though, of a woman who started lifting weights to get in shape in her late 50s. She ended up being a champion powerlifter in the Masters division. It’s 100% about dedication to the change – your body will have no choice but to adapt, which means shedding fat and increasing muscle size and bone density, among other things. I have a great client in Naperville who is in his mid-50s who dropped two pant sizes in a month while gaining 3 pounds. Gaining weight while dropping clothing sizes means muscle is being built while fat is being lost. He works HARD for those results.
mr Blewett i really want to ask you for advice about throwing.. if theres anyway to have communication i would be extremely greatful.. i am tryin to close in on my goals of hitting 90 and getting back into college ball.. i look for all the help i can get
thank you for this website mr Blewett
Mr. Blewett,
I am getting back into shape, i reached a weight that disscusted me and I do not ever want to be this heavy again. As I started my diet, I thought about getting back into baseball shape and trying to find a place to tryout; for one more run, if you will. I am 28 years of age. My question to you is what can I do to get this weight off quicker and get myself back into baseball shape? I have been useing all of the exercises I learned as a child. I am sure that more than all of them are out of date and will not get me to where I am wanting to go. Any thoughts and information would be welcomed.
Thank you
John Donaldson
